Remote data downloading from automotive digital tachograph

Thesis deals with device firmware design located in lorry, which provides remote access to vehicle digital tachograph data according to valid EU legislation. The result of this work is a system, which downloads digital data from digital tachograph and save them on remote server. The system for remote data downloading from automotive digital tachograph consists of three kinds of applications: server application, user application and firmware for communication device. Communication between applications uses encrypted TCP connection and own special designed messages.

The bachelor thesis deals with the issues of toll collection in the road network. The first part of the work describes the established tolling methods and focuses on volume-distance tolling. It deals with electronic toll collection systems and the microwave toll technology used in the Czech Republic. The second part focuses on the fees charged for use of road network, function of the Customs Administration and telematic systems. The third part centers on the extension of toll to second- and third-class roads and the costs of implementation and managment of toll collection. The fourth part of the work discusses the issues and evaluation of the system of implementation, extension and collection of toll.

Improving efficiency of selected company

The thesis deals with ways of increasing efficiency in retail with focus on logistics from theoretical as well as practical perspective. Application of the practical part is demonstrated on the example of Dotcom, online store project of Tesco Stores ČR a.s. First aim of the thesis is to identify areas with the biggest potential in increasing efficiency with respect to financial demands of the eventual investment and to propose a potential solution. Second aim is to verify a hypothesis that the delivery of goods to customers is inefficient given that the planning system is not being linked to the tracking system.
Information System for Passengers in Rail Transport

This thesis is focused on information system for rail passengers. The first part aims to explain the importance and the function of the information systems for passengers who use the rail transport. The second part of theory targets on characterising the importance and functionality of the Telematics Transport Systems which are focused on this issue. The aim of the practical part is to characterize yet applied information systems which support the transport awareness of the passengers and to analyze the main processes. The third part of this thesis is also practical and is focused on the information systems and how they are perceived by the passengers itselves. This perception by the passengers was identified from the survey but also by own experiences. On the basis of this analyse requiremens on the funcionality of the information system were evaluated. The final part of this thesis deals with opportunities for improvement of the Information System and subsequently also improvement of the awareness of passengers. The section describes the proposal itself but also the consequent possibility of realization.
